Speaking at the Bitcoin 2025 Conference held in Las Vegas, U.S. Vice President JD Vance made clear and bold statements regarding cryptocurrency and particularly Bitcoin.

Vance harshly criticized the financial regulators and policies of the previous era while stating that the current administration would take a crypto-friendly line.

Vance, who said, "We have removed Gary Gensler, and we will part ways with everyone like him," argued that previous regulatory policies hindered financial democratization under the guise of "consumer protection."

Vance, who defines cryptocurrencies as a hedge against the bad policies in Washington and high inflation, said, "Crypto is a protection tool against soaring inflation that erodes savings, the private sector that discriminates based on beliefs, and bad public policies."

Vance, who clearly declared that the Trump administration is crypto-friendly, stated, "With Trump, crypto has an ally and a champion in the White House." However, regarding the regulatory pressure operation known as "Operation Choke Point 2.0," which is alleged to have targeted the crypto community during the Biden era, he said, "It's over now and it won't come back."

Vance added, addressing the crypto community directly, "This administration will never try to hinder your community."

JD Vance, who stated that he owns Bitcoin, shared his personal investment by saying, "I still have a considerable amount of Bitcoin today." He also expressed his belief that Bitcoin will play a larger role in the American economy in the upcoming period, predicting, "Soon, 100 million Americans will own Bitcoin."

Vance criticized China's policies that move away from Bitcoin in his speech, saying, "If communist China is moving away from Bitcoin, then the US should be moving in the opposite direction. And that is exactly what we will do."

Completing his speech with the vision that Bitcoin will have a strategic importance for America, the Vice President said, "Bitcoin will become a strategic asset for the U.S. within the next decade."
