The study revealed concerns among Americans related to AI.
U.S. citizens are deeply concerned about the progress in artificial intelligence and its implications for unemployment. This is evidenced by the results of a study by Reuters and Ipsos.
71% of respondents fear that AI will permanently take away jobs from many people.
77% of respondents are concerned about the potential use of technology to create political chaos, including the generation of fake plausible videos about fictional events.
In July, US President Donald Trump posted a video on social media of the arrest of former President Barack Obama — this event did not actually happen.
Including Americans, there is a skeptical attitude towards the use of AI in the military sphere:
61% of US citizens are concerned about the amount of energy consumed by artificial intelligence. Among other criticized topics: romantic communication of chatbots with children, creation of false medical information, and assistance in forming racist arguments.
Two-thirds of respondents fear that people will abandon human relationships in favor of AI companions.
In the field of education, opinions are divided:
A total of 4,446 adult residents of the USA participated in the survey.
It should be noted that in August 2024, British trade unions warned of the risk of millions of job cuts due to artificial intelligence.
